90 Day Challenge – Week 12: The Cross and Resurrection
One Chapel family,
As we move into Week 12, the story reaches its center.
This Week’s Reading
John 15 – Colossians 4
Everything Jesus has been teaching now comes into focus. The Kingdom He announced, the way of life He embodied, and the love He modeled all lead toward the cross.
To many, the cross looked like failure. Hopes collapsed. Expectations died. What seemed like victory unraveled into loss.
Yet Scripture tells a deeper truth.
A Cultural Insight
In the Roman world, crucifixion was designed to erase hope. It was meant to shame, silence, and declare absolute power.
Resurrection overturns that message.
God does not defeat evil through force, but through self-giving love. What appears to be defeat becomes the doorway to redemption. Death does not have the final word — life does.
The cross reveals the depth of God’s love.
The resurrection reveals the power of that love.
As You Read
Notice how Jesus faces suffering — not with escape or retaliation, but with obedience and trust. He absorbs violence, betrayal, and injustice, and responds with forgiveness.
The resurrection does not erase the cross. It transforms it.
This is not just the climax of the story — it is the moment everything else has been pointing toward.
A Simple Invitation
As you read this week, take time to sit with the weight of the cross and the wonder of the empty tomb.
If you’re willing, share one word or phrase that captures what the resurrection means to you — with your group or online. Sometimes simple testimony speaks louder than explanation.
Grateful to stand in hope together,
