90 Day Challenge – Week 9: Waiting, Silence, and Expectation

One Chapel family,

As we move into Week 9, the story grows quieter. After warning, exile, and loss, Scripture leads us into a long season of waiting.

This Week’s Reading

Jeremiah 33 – Ezekiel 47

The promises remain, but fulfillment feels distant. God speaks of restoration, new hearts, and future hope — even while circumstances remain unchanged.

A Cultural Insight

For God’s people, waiting was not passive. It was a season marked by longing and expectation. Generations carried promises forward without seeing them fulfilled.

Between the prophets and the coming of Jesus, centuries would pass in silence. Yet hope did not disappear — it intensified. The ache for rescue, healing, and renewal only grew stronger.

Waiting became the soil where expectation took root.

As You Read

Notice how often God points toward what is coming rather than explaining what is happening. He gives vision before resolution, promise before clarity.

Waiting reveals what we trust. It stretches faith and exposes our desire for control — but it also deepens hope.

Scripture reminds us that silence does not mean absence. God is often most active beneath the surface, preparing what we cannot yet see.

A Simple Invitation

As you read this week, reflect on where you may be waiting in your own life — for direction, healing, clarity, or restoration.

If you’re willing, share one word that describes your waiting with your group or online. Sometimes naming the season helps us remember that waiting is not wasted.

Grateful to be holding hope together,
